Medicare’s Mixed Bounty
Medicare released data on Wednesday detailing how much it paid medical providers in 2012 – the first release of its type since 1979. The insurance program for the elderly and disabled spent about $1,900 per enrollee to pay individual medical providers across the country that year. Spending in Florida was 54 percent higher.
