China authorities have overhauled a key micro credit program, shifting focus from poverty alleviation to longer‑term income support for still-vulnerable rural households.

In a joint notice, financial, fiscal and agricultural regulators said the existing micro loan plan will be rebranded as “supportive micro credit” after the policy-transition period, aligning finance with Beijing’s broader push for rural revitalization and a permanent mechanism to prevent a return to poverty.
