Patreon Inc., a subscription platform for online creators, is inking podcasting partnership deals with Sony Music Entertainment and Amazon.com Inc.’s Wondery, as a surge in subscription revenue is helping it expand beyond its base of individuals and small networks.

Podcasters generated more than $472 million on Patreon last year, up 35% from 2023, the company told Bloomberg News. Founded nearly 12 years ago by Jack Conte and Sam Yam, Patreon now has more than 6.7 million paid podcast subscriptions out of more than 100 million active memberships — free and paid — across the platform.
