Spain’s Negative Power Prices Are Already Twice the 2024 Total
The number of sub-zero electricity prices in Spain are already double last year’s total after solar output surged, the latest indication of how authorities are struggling to integrate more green power.
More than 500 instances of negative hours have been logged in the Iberian market this year, data from power exchange OMIE show. Other markets, including Germany and France, are also seeing big gains although not quite as pronounced.
