UK Green Party Elects Zack Polanski as Leader in Populist Shift

The UK’s Green Party elected Zack Polanski as its new leader, signaling a move to the populist left for the climate-focused group.

The 42-year-old, who was previously deputy leader, beat rivals Ellie Chowns and Adrian Ramsay by a total of 20,411 votes to 3,705. Chowns and Ramsay, who were running on a joint ticket in the ballot of the party’s members, are two of the Greens’ four Members of Parliament.
