Covid vaccines slashed emergency room visits among children last year, a real-world analysis from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found, raising questions about the impact of recent policy changes from the Trump administration.

The newest Covid booster reduced the risk of an emergency room or urgent care visit by 76% over six months for children ages 9 months to 4 years old, according to the study released Thursday. For those 5 to 17 years old, the risk fell by slightly more than half.
