Two major groups from alternative wings of the Labour Party set out detailed economic policy plans in a bid to shape the future direction of the UK government as Keir Starmer fights for survival.

The Labour Growth Group, a caucus of center-leaning Labour Members of Parliament, and the Tribune Group, from the party’s left wing, on Tuesday both published prospectuses for how Labour should change the economy, a sign of the underlying debate in Starmer’s party over economic strategy which threatens to spill into full view if the premier is formally challenged for the leadership.
